About Us

Redefining surgical excellence and enhancing patient outcomes. With our commitment to innovation, advanced technology, and personalized care, we aim to revolutionize the way surgeries are performed.
Our History

Creating the new gold standard for orthopedic surgery.

Kinomatic was founded with a simple goal, to optimize surgical outcomes. There have been tremendous advances in orthopedics, but many technologies and surgical techniques still use generic alignment parameters that are the same for every patient, regardless of their unique anatomy. This philosophy was adopted decades ago in order to reduce the number of bad outcomes after surgery. Unfortunately, what this approach has done is led surgeons to focus on avoiding bad outcomes instead of focusing on great outcomes. Why settle for a good surgical outcome when you could have a great surgical outcome? The Kinomatic approach is to optimize every surgical outcome. Some patients report a knee or hip after surgery that feels so natural they forget they ever had surgery, we call this a forgotten joint, and that’s the goal of every kinomatic surgery. We believe that surgery should be customized to every patient with a goal of the most natural feeling joint as possible.

Our Mission

Kinomatic is striving to improve joint replacement procedures across the board. Our goal is to provide the best, most natural results possible.

Our Vision

To be uniformly recognized as the gold standard for orthopedic surgery in the US by consistently delivering superior results.

Core Values

Kinomatic puts its people first. From our patients to our team members to our doctors, our principles are at the forefront of everything we do.

I have a passion for innovation and a belief that everything can improve. My desire for continuous improvement led to the founding of Kinomatic. I believed that we could drastically improve surgical outcomes with a customized approach. After spending 7 years in surgery center development, I saw a need to improve surgical planning and move to a truly customized approach to orthopedic surgery. The next step was to partner with the best joint replacement surgeons in the country to develop a customized planning tool that can help optimize every patient outcome. I’m fortunate to work with an amazing team, who shares my desire to improve patient outcomes and continue to push the envelope.

Chris Fries

Vice President of Sales & Product Development

My journey has been a blend of military service and innovation in the orthopedic industry. After serving two terms in the US Air Force, I channeled my discipline into a fulfilling 18-year career within orthopedics. It began in 2004 when I joined Biomet Orthopedics as a sales representative. From there, I seamlessly transitioned to Zimmer Orthopedics, and then eventually stepped into the role of Area Manager for Medacta in 2012. Then in 2013, I co-founded NextStep Arthropedix and took on the role of Vice President. This allowed me to drive both sales and product development, leveraging my deep industry insights. In 2020, I assumed the role of CEO at Orthogroup Inc, a pivotal step that expanded my influence within the orthopedic instrument manufacturing sector. Holding various positions within the orthopedic space has given me a unique perspective on the industry, and led me to challenge the current orthodoxy in orthopedics. I was fortunate enough to connect with other disruptive minds and together we launched Kinomatic. My unwavering belief in the potential of technology to transform patient outcomes fuels my commitment to bring cutting-edge solutions to all patients, with a goal of improved outcomes.
