With Kinomatic’s extensive experience in 3D pre-surgical templating, they have always been at the forefront of using advanced technology to improve patient outcomes. However, they knew that by pushing their foundation just a little bit further they could finally give surgeons the ultimate tool that would allow them to experience 3D models in a more immersive–and practical–way, and thus, Kinomatic was born.
Before VR technology became available to surgeons, referencing a 3D model could only be done on a 2D screen. This doesn’t allow for the same depth perception and detail that a surgeon can get in Virtual Reality. With Kinomatic VR, surgeons can interact with diagnostic imagery, not merely observe it. By allowing surgeons to examine the model from every possible angle in VR and then plan out every detail of the operation in advance, they can now calculate exact size and orientation of implants before operating.
